Julia Sanderson
Idaho 4-H STEM AmeriCorps youth instruction
Boise School District
Julia’s (pictured right) AmeriCorps service focuses on sustainability and outdoor education, with programming on pollinators, soil health, composting and recycled arts and crafts. One project she especially enjoyed was working with middle schoolers during their climate change unit. Julia participated in a multi-day event discussing food insecurity, sustainable farming, soil health and hügelkultur. She was able to help students with their final projects, where students built their own sustainable farms.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve, and I’m proud to call myself an AmeriCorps member. I hope the program continues to change lives, and I’m grateful to have been a small part of it,” Julia stated.
